Joe enters his seventh year as a coach with the Ontario Blue Jays.  Joe began his coaching career in 2010, joining the OBJ 17 & Under team working with Head Coach Jamie Pogue (Pogue is now the Minor League Catching Coordinator and Bullpen Catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals).  After two summers with Pogue, Joe joined the 18 & Under – White coaching staff for the summer of 2013.  Later that year, Joe joined the Ontario Blue Jays Coaching Staff full time as the Pitching Coordinator and 18 & Under Pitching Coach. Following his first off-season as Pitching Coordinator, OBJ 16U Travers took home the 2013 Mickey Mantle World Series Championship in McKinney, Texas.  In 2014, Joe became a Head Coach at the 16 & Under level and is now entering his fourth year at that age group.  Joe has seen eight pitchers get drafted out of the Ontario Blue Jays pitching program:  Christian Botnick (Chicago Cubs), Sean Ratcliffe (Toronto Blue Jays), Zach Pop (Toronto Blue Jays), Jordan Romano (Toronto Blue Jays), Isaac Anesty (Cincinnati Reds), Darren Shred (Cincinnati Reds), Bryan Saucedo (Chicago White Sox) and Jordan Balazovic (Minnesota Twins).  In addition to coaching with the Ontario Blue Jays, Joe has been an Assistant Coach with the Barrie Baycats of the Intercounty Baseball League since 2014. Over three season with the Baycats, Joe has been apart of three consecutive IBL Championships.

Joe is a former Ontario Blue Jays pitcher, who played from 2005-2009 and was a part of the 2006 16U team that qualified for the Mickey Mantle World Series in McKinney, Texas.  During the 2006 tournament, Joe won the first game in OBJ history at the Mickey Mantle World Series against the Florida Pokers.  In 2008, at the highly touted WWBA 18U National Championship in Jupiter, Florida Joe threw a no-hitter for the Ontario Blue Jays against Perfect Game Tennessee.  Joe finished his OBJ career in 2009, where he was a PBLO All-Star and signed with Cisco College in Cisco, Texas (NJCAA D1).  Joe transferred to Connors State College in Oklahoma (NJCAA D1) in the Fall of 2010. While at Connors State he was named the Opening Day Starter and was named to the 2nd Team All-Conference Pitcher.  He transferred to finish his education and athletic career at the Division 1 South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota.  Joe also had stints in the Intercounty Baseball League in 2009 and 2010 with the Guelph Royals and 2011 with the Kitchener Panthers.
