Collymore Signs at Indian River

Ontario Blue Jays OF Rashad Collymore has signed his letter of intent to play baseball and further his academic studies in Fort Pierce, Florida at Indian River State College.  Collymore has been a member of the Ontario Blue Jays for 4 years.  The switch hitting outfielder will not only bring his power on both sides of the plate but it is his speed that separates him from the pack.  Collymore will compete in the very challenging FCSAA (Florida College System Activities Association Athletics) as the Pioneers look to stamp their ticket to Grand Junction.

Rashad is the second Collymore who will graduate the OBJ program following in his brother Malik Collymore’s footsteps.  Malik was drafted in the 10th round by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2013 and is currently playing in the Milwaukee Brewers system.  Rashad’s father is also a coach for the Ontario Blue Jays and has a younger brother Khalid who is playing at the 16 & Under level.

Collymore becomes the first Ontario Blue Jays player to attend Indian River State College.
