The Ontario Blue Jays are excited to announce that SS Khalid Collymore (Mississauga, ON) has committed to attended the University of Montevallo (NCAA D2 – Montevallo, AL) for the Fall of 2019.
Collymore, a long time OBJ, is in his final year with the Ontario Blue Jays. Khalid began with the Ontario Blue Jays years before joining full-time at the 16U level as his older brothers Malik and Rashad competed for OBJ prior to him. Khalid has been apart of many championship teams while with OBJ, he has always been a staple of energy and excitement on the field and lead teams with not only his words but actions. Khalid’s graduation will end a streak of almost ten years of Collymore’s playing in the OBJ Program. Malik, Rashad and Khalid will pass the torch to their father, Lawrence, who will continue the Collymore’s presence in the program as a 14 & Under Head Coach.
Collymore joins a Montevallo Falcons team that is consistently in the top of the Gulf South Conference, and is off to another hot start this year as they move into the middle of the season with a 12-6 Conference Record. Collymore will bring an immediate spark to the Falcon’s line up along in his Freshman Year.
Khalid becomes the first Ontario Blue Jays player to attend the University of Montevallo.
