The Ontario Blue Jays are excited to announce that SS Christian Leone (Nobleton, ON) has committed to attended the Nova Southeastern University (NCAA D2 – Fort Lauderdale, FL) for the Fall of 2019.
Leone joined OBJ as a 15 year old, and has excelled in the four years that followed becoming a vital part of each team he played for. This past summer with OBJ Travers, Leone won the Future Stars Series National Trials and Marucci World Series in back-to-back weeks. Christian played a pivotal role in both championships and helped lead them to two of the biggest tournament wins in OBJ history.
Leone joins a very strong Nova Southeastern baseball program that has been at the top on the NCAA Division rankings for years, including winning the NCAA D2 World Series in 2016. Nova has posted 30-win seasons the last 15 years and look to continue the trend this year. Leone will look to impact the top of the Shocks line up and provide a true shortstop for four years.
Leone will be the first Ontario Blue Jays player to attend Nova Southeastern University.
