OBJ Takes Part in Ways to Play by MLB & PG

This weekend the Ontario Blue Jays Fall Collegiate Roster will take a break from their typical schedule against various colleges/universities to play in the Ways to Play powered by Major League Baseball and Perfect Game.  The invite only tournament will take place at Perfect Game Park at LakePoint in Cartersville, Georgia and will be a great tune up prior to the WWBA PG 18U National Championship in Jupiter, Florida next week.

“This is the 2nd annual Ways to Play powered by MLB & Perfect Game.  The purpose of this collaboration is to have some of the best teams in the country use some different pace-of-play rules in a tournament setting.” – Perfect Game

The play of play rules for this weekend’s event are below:

  1. 9 Innings Games
  2. Batters will start with a 1-1 Count
  3. Steal will be permitted
  4. Batter MUST keep one foot in the box during his at-bat
  5. NO around the horn between outs
  6. Maximum of 4 mound visits per game.  If a visit results in pitching change, it does not count as a mound visit.
  7. If the game is tied after 9 innings, we will start with a runner on 2nd base and nobody out until winning team is decided.

OBJ will take on the South Charlotte Panthers at 12:15pm before facing off against Team Georgia National at 5:15pm.  Sunday’s schedule will be bracket play as determined by today’s results.

After this event wraps up, OBJ will head to Tallahassee, FL to take on Florida State University (Monday) before making their way to Florida’s east coast to play Florida Atlantic University (Tuesday).
