T12 Wrap Up: Six OBJ Players Take Home Championship

Early September baseball in Canada has become all about Tournament 12.  Many scouts from both the collegiate and professional ranks travel north to Toronto to see the best players Canada has to offer.  This year’s T12 teams saw 12 Ontario Blue Jays players play on three different rosters (Ontario – Black, Ontario – Green & Futures – Navy).

Once the dust settled on the fifth day of the event, Ontario – Green was named champion after defeating the Atlantic (5-1) and Alberta (5-2).  Ontario – Green featured six OBJ players:  RHP Lukas Barry, RHP Brandon Deans, LHP Nick Fraser, C/OF Blake Buckle, IF Tyrell (TJ) Schofield-Sam, and OF Joel McKnight.  All players played key roles in leading Ontario – Green to winning the 2018 T12 Championship.

In addition, C/OF Blake Buckle was named 2018 T12 MVP for his efforts in leading Ontario – Green to the championship.  Buckle hit .417, with a 1.146 OPS while adding 5 RBIs over their 5 games.

LHP Nick Fraser:  (1-0) 4 IP, 6 K, 0.00 ERA

OF Dasan Brown:  .467 AVG., .971 OPS

IF Tyrell (TJ) Schofield-Sam:  .278 AVG., .667 OPS, 6 RBIs
