The Ontario Blue Jays are an amateur baseball program designed to develop youth baseball players to move forward into collegiate and professional opportunities.  Over the past 20 years the Ontario Blue Jays have lead the rise of Canadian’s in both collegiate and professional baseball.  In those 20 years, OBJ has placed over 445 players in college or university across the United States and Canada.  In addition, OBJ has seen the most current and former players drafted in the MLB First-Year Players Draft with 110 players.  Most notably, in 2015 OBJ reached a new milestone as first baseman Josh Naylor was drafted in the 1st Round, 12th Overall by the Miami Marlins.  On that day not only was Naylor the Ontario Blue Jays first, 1st Round Pick, but he became the highest Canadian position player ever selected in the MLB First-Year Players Draft.  To learn more about all of the former OBJ players collegiate placements, MLB draft results, and Team Canada honours please check out our OBJ Alumni section.

The 14U to 18U Ontario Blue Jays teams play their provincial baseball in the Canadian Premier Baseball League (CPBL).  The CPBL features the top teams from across Ontario including teams in Aurora, Burlington, London, St. Mary’s, and Toronto.  The CPBL season begins play during the first week of May and continues until the end of June.  The CPBL then resumes for the Play Off Tournament during the first weekend of August to conclude league play and our baseball season.

The 13U Ontario Blue Jays team play their provincial baseball in the Fergie Jenkins Showcase League (FJSL).  The FJSL is the only elite baseball league operating at the 10U to 13U level, featuring teams from Ajax, Guelph, Kitchener, and Niagara Falls.  Similar to the CPBL, the FJSL begins play during the first week of May, but continues throughout June, July, and concludes the first weekend of August with a Playoff Tournament.

The Ontario Blue Jays travel across the United States varies based on age group and team.  OBJ teams from 12U to 15U travel throughout their CPBL and FJSL seasons attending four tournaments at each age group.  The majority of tournaments at this level are in Ohio, Michigan, and New York.  The 2017 season will mark the first OBJ 12U team to attend Cooperstown Dreams Park this July.  At the 16U to 18U level, OBJ teams travel extensively throughout the United States during July of each summer.  All team travel at this level is done via Coach Canada, as we travel south to compete against some of the best teams and players at each age group.  Here are a few locations that OBJ has travel to in recent years:  Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, Farmington, NM, Fort Myers, FL, Houston, TX, Memphis, TN, Nashville, TN, Orlando, FL, Pensacola, FL, and Waterbury, CT.
