Brandon Dhue joined the Ontario Blue Jays coaching staff in 2011 helping out initially with the Summer Development Camps. Though not a homegrown OBJ player, Dhue quickly jumped at the opportunity to get on board with the program.
Dhue played most of his High School baseball years with the Ontario Tigers and finished playing with the South Florida Bandits, a travel team based out of Boca Raton, Florida. After graduating from Humberside Collegiate in Toronto, ON he accepted a scholarship to NJCAA D1 Guilford Tech Community College located in Jamestown, North Carolina.
Dhue spent 3 seasons at Guilford Tech playing in 69 of the 90 games, starting 42 of 51 games a freshman and finishing 3rd on the team in RBI's with 23 and tied for the team lead with 5 outfield assists. Dhue then transferred to Truett McConnell College in Cleveland, Georgia where he was selected as an Appalachian Athletic Conference Pre-Season All-Star in the fall of 2011.
After College baseball Dhue spent 8 years in the IBL playing 2 seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs and 6 seasons with the Barrie Baycats, compiling 5 championships.
Dhue has been a part of the Ontario Blue Jays coaching staff at several different levels. Initially Dhue stepped in to help out the 18u White team. Then moving to the 16u ranks with former Head Coach, Kyle MacKinnon. Along the way Dhue felt a strong love for the weight room and once he was partnered with former Head Strength coach Chris Walsh, Dhue took off in that role and became a very prominent voice to be heard.
Brandon brings a wide variety of knowledge from many experiences as a player, a strength coach and a baseball coach.
