2021 Collegiate Fall Schedule Released

The Ontario Blue Jays have announced their 2021 Collegiate Fall Schedule featuring three National Champions from this past Spring. The Road to Jupiter is lead by Head Coach, Mike Steed, Associate Head Coach, Corey Eckstein and their experienced coaching/support staff. The team will be selected and lead through an extensive schedule that has been a staple of the OBJ Program for decades beginning with training camp on August 18th.

Prior to beginning the US portion of collegiate competition, OBJ will host Academie du Baseball Canada (Montreal, QC) in a four-game exhibition series that has become an annual occurrence. In addition to ABC, OBJ will take on two other opponent that will be announced in the coming weeks prior to heading to the United States.

This year’s Fall Schedule begins with a new addition, a three-day trip across the border to Lewiston and Buffalo, New York beginning September 4th that includes practicing at Niagara University (NCAA) as well as games against Niagara County Community College (#7 in NJCAA DIII) and Erie Community College.

The Road to Jupiter begins on September 10th as OBJ loads their bus and leaves Mississauga for the United States for a 31-Day tour across the country playing some of the best collegiate programs along the way. 

The journey begins, as always, with stretch of top NJCAA competition, some of which found themselves amongst the top of the NJCAA Polls in 2021 including Parkland College (IL), Eastern Oklahoma State College, San Jacinto College (TX), Walters State Community College (TN), Pearl River Community College (MS) as well as NJCAA DI National Champion, McLennan College (TX) and NJCAA DII National Champion, Louisiana State University - Eunice.

As the team works its way from the Mississippi to the Atlantic, they will begin taking on NCAA and NAIA schools including some new faces in East Tennessee State University, Radford University (VA), Western Carolina University (NC), University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Davidson College (NC)

The mainstays of the OBJ Collegiate Fall Schedule will also be well represented this year with matchups with Virginia Tech University, University of Virginia, High Point University (NC), Florida A&M University, Florida State University and NAIA National Champion, Georgia Gwinnett College.

The over 8000 kilometres (or 5000 miles) in travel, will lead the Ontario Blue Jays to one location - Jupiter, Florida and the Perfect Game WWBA World Championship. As the only Canadian team in attendance, OBJ carries the aspirations of many other Canadian baseball players from coast-to-coast to the field each day as they represent the country in what is known as the top amateur baseball event in the world.
