2022 MiLB Wrap Up

With the Minor League regular season recently coming to an end, let’s review how the Ontario Blue Jays Alumni performed this season. 


2018’s 1st round pick C Bo Naylor put together an outstanding season. Over 118 games, Bo had 21 home runs, 20 stolen bases, along with posting a .392 OBP and .888 OPS. Recently called up to the Cleveland Guardians Major League club where Bo will look to help them in their playoff push! 


OF David Calabrese had quite a season, His August surge where he slashed .345/.419/.954 giving him a 144 wRC+ was certainly the highlight of his season. Calabrese also added 7 home runs, 64 RBI and 26 stolen bases on the season.


OF Dasan Brown slashed .283/.383/.803 over 84 games. Dasan started the season with the FCL Blue Jays (Rookie ball) and was promoted to the Dunedin Blue Jays (Single-A). After a hot start with Dunedin, he was moved up to Toronto’s High A affiliate, the Vancouver Canadians. Dasan hit .298 with 11 stolen bases during his time there.


IF TJ Schofield-Sam hit .259 with 6 home runs, 23 doubles, 55 RBI, and 8 stolen bases for the Oakland Athletics A ball affiliate—the Stockton Ports. 


Ontario Blue Jays Director of College Placement, Mike Steed coached with the Augusta GreenJackets this season (Single-A affiliate, Atlanta Braves). The GreenJackets finished the season 69-62.

OF Jacob Robson – Toledo Mud Hens (AAA affiliate, Detroit Tigers), 2B Max Hewitt – Great Lakes Loons (Adv A affiliate, Los Angeles Dodgers), 1B David McCabe – Augusta GreenJackets (Single-A affiliate, Atlanta Braves), RHP R.J. Freure – Rome Braves (Advanced A, Atlanta Braves), RHP Jordan Balazovic – St. Paul Saints (AAA affiliate, Minnesota Twins). We’ll keep our eyes out for more former OBJ’s making news!
