7 Ontario Blue Jays Make Team Canada!

Team Canada has announced their roster for the Dominican Republic Selection Camp, and there are Ontario Blue Jays:

Myles Naylor (3B/SS) – A familiar face with the National Team, Myles returns and hopes to help Team Canada qualify for the World Cup. Coming off an impressive showing at Area Code games and winning the Home Run Derby at the Canadian Futures Showcase, Myles is showing why he is a threat in the middle of that Canada lineup.

Makaio Cisneros (RHP) – Returning to Team Canada for the second time, Cisneros looks to be an impactful arm in the rotation. He posted a 1.96 ERA this Summer with the Ontario Blue Jays 16U White squad.

Matthew Brown (RHP) – In 39 Innings pitched with Ontario Blue Jays 16U White, Brown struck out 61 batters. He is looking to continue building off his impressive Summer and make a difference with the National Team.

Jorge Valdes (OF) – Valdes hit .421 this Summer with OBJ 16U Red. However, that isn’t all that stands out… he also stole 40 bases in just 46 games. With his incredible speed, Valdes makes a big impact in any lineup.

Matt Sargeant (RHP) – Over 38.2 innings pitched, Sargeant struck out 59 while only walking 15. He will look to continue that trend with the National Team this year and make a difference in the rotation.

Brendan Lawson (SS) – Lawson put together an eye-opening season with the OBJ 16U Red Team. Slugging .783 with a 1.340 OPS and 8 home runs over just 46 games. He is a threat to leave the yard at any time and will make an impact with the National Team right away.

Lachlan Harrison (LHP) – Lachlan posted 46 K’s over 37 innings this Summer and showed how dominant he can be. A big left-handed pitcher who makes hitters very uncomfortable in the box.

Team Canada's selection camp will determine which 20 players will be selected to represent Canada at their U-18 World Cup Qualifier in November. Good luck to Canada and our Ontario Blue Jays!
