A Bittersweet Goodbye

Although bittersweet the Ontario Blue Jays are excited to announce that Joe Ellison has accepted a position at McPherson College in Kansas, joining OBJ Alumni Kyle MacKinnon as his Recruiting Coordinator this fall.

Joe has been with the Ontario Blue Jays since 2005. He has been an essential piece to the organization for many years while embracing many different roles. Joe had recently worked his way up to General Manager, overseeing the program through change and endless challenges during Covid. Since Joe was 20 years old he had ambitions to coach collegiate baseball and feels the time is now to embark on those dreams.

When you see him in the building or at the field over the next couple weeks, make sure you wish him well and thank him for his time served! Although we will most certainly miss him, we are excited for the opportunity that awaits him where he can continue to expand his baseball resume while also finishing his degree.

I have no doubt that Joe will continue to bleed blue from afar and will always be foreverĀ entrenched in the #OBJFamily

Best wishes from all of us here at the Ontario Blue Jays!

President, Corey Eckstein
