Calabrese drafted 82nd Overall by Angels

The MLB First-Year Players Draft is something that players look forward to for years before it is their year to potentially hear their name called.  The Ontario Blue Jays have been lucky enough to have great success over the past twenty four seasons in having at least one players selected each year. Albeit a year no one will soon forget on a global scale but also for MLB hopefuls who saw the 2020 MLB Draft shortened to just five rounds.  This year saw OBJ OF David Calabrese of Maple, Ontario get selected in the 3rd Round, 82nd Overall by the Los Angeles Angels.

David was able to impress those who attended the Canadian Junior National Team Spring Training trip this March prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 that effective shut everything down prior to the draft this past week. Calabrese is a University of Arkansas commit and garnered may compliments from high places including Toronto Blue Jays and ESPN MLB Broadcaster Dan Schulman.

Dan's son, Ben who looks to follow in his fathers footsteps got a chance to interview David about his time with OBJ and Team Canada leading up to this big day.
