Carrington named Base Running Coordinator

The Ontario Blue Jays are pleased to announce the promotion of Greg Carrington within the OBJ Coaching Staff as the Base Running Coordinator.  Carrington joined the coaching staff this Fall and worked alongside longtime Outfield Coach Pat Visca.  He has excelled since jumping on board and will begin his new role along with continuing outfield and hitting instruction.

During his OBJ career he was apart of two major OBJ Championships, the 2013 AABC Mickey Mantle World Series in McKinney, Texas and the 2015 Perfect Game BCS Championship in Fort Myers, Florida - both event championships were a first for any Canadian team.  Carrington graduated OBJ in 2015 after accepting a scholarship at Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NCAA D2) in Alma, Oklahoma.  Carrington was a three year Team Captain for the Rangers while completing his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.  He lead the Rangers in Fielding Percentage in two of his four years while playing all over the outfield.

Director of Baseball Operations, Joe Ellison on the promotion of Carrington, "Greg has come into this coaching opportunity like he did as a player, with an incredible work ethic and drive to make himself and others better.  Many people likely don't know Greg's playing background - He played house league until he was 14 years old before playing a single year with the AA Scarborough Stingers then joined OBJ in 2012-13.  His drive to succeed was something that every player should strive to achieve and to watch it happen was something I won't soon forget.  Carrington's promotion leads him into a new role within the program as we continue to look to separate ourselves and provide our players with best development opportunities possible."
