OBJ Partners with IMG Academy for Spring Training

The Ontario Blue Jays are excited to announce a partnership with IMG Academy to make it our new Spring Training home!

IMG Academy is located in Bradenton, Florida where professional-quality facilities and immaculately maintained fields and surfaces are the standard. The IMG Academy campus sits on more than 500 acres and features over 20 multi-sport fields, 50+ tennis courts, a 5,000 seat state of the art stadium, 18-hole golf course, two basketball courts with multiple gyms, two 10,000+ square foot weight rooms and much more.  Our teams will take advantage of the IMG Academy Baseball Complex which features:

  • 6 Full Size Baseball Fields (including IMG Stadium)
  • 16 Practice Pitching Mounds
  • 4 Indoor Batting Cages
  • 12 Outdoor Batting Cages
  • Locker Rooms/Meeting Areas
  • Weight Room/Yoga Studio

In addition to the athletic facilities, our players and staff will live amongst the full-time IMG Students on campus.  Players and Staff will live in Ascender Hall located on campus and provides furnished dorm-style rooms that includes bunk beds, desks, wardrobes, an in-suite bathroom and full room cleaning service.  During our stay at IMG, three meals-a-day are provided through the IMG Campus Center which features The Servery (which features buffet-style cuisine prepared with the athlete in mind), Fuzion (Asian-inspired fare allowing you to build your own stir fry or bowl), and The Brick Over (create custom pizza or have your choice of calzones, cheesesteaks, wings and quesadillas).

As always with our annual OBJ Spring Training Trip, the focus is on baseball and developing in the short time we get to spend outdoors in March.  Each team will play between 10 and 12 games based on age group against varying competition both at IMG and the surrounding areas.  OBJ will host our annual OBJ Scout Day on Monday, March 16th against Académie du Baseball Canada at the IMG Academy Baseball Stadium.  In addition to playing against high school competition, our 18 & Under team will take on various colleges and universities as apart of the their schedule to continue to challenge our players and prepare them for their collegiate careers.

We’re excited to grow this relationship with one of the best high school prep academies in not only the United States but in North America.
