Justin Marra joins OBJ Coaching Staff
The Ontario Blue Jays are pleased to announce the addition of Justin Marra as a Catching and Hitting Coach.
Justin graduated OBJ with a full scholarship to Connors State College (NJCAA) but chose the professional route after being selected in the 15th Round of the 2011 MLB First Year Players Draft. Marra played four seasons with the Cubs organization from 2011-2015 with the the AZL Cubs, Boise Hawks, Eugene Emeralds, and South Bend Cubs before playing one year of independent baseball for the Quebec Capitales of the Can-Am League.
Director of Player Development and Catching Coordinator, Kyle DeGrace on the addition of Marra, “Another exciting day today as we welcome Justin back to the OBJ Family. I’m excited to begin working with Justin. I had the chance to coach Justin at the tail end of his OBJ career prior to him being drafted by the Cubs. Justin is going to be a great addition to our staff. He brings a wealth of experience from his time spent in the Cubs organization and with the National team. Justin will work closely with myself and Tony with the catchers as well with Smitty and our hitters. Justin and Tony are going to make a great team working together with our young group of catchers. I can’t wait to get started!”
Marra will work alongside Kyle DeGrace to continue to improve an already strong catching program which he graduated from. Welcome back, Justin!
