Martinez commits to Mercyhurst

The Ontario Blue Jays are excited to announce that C EJ Martinez (Guelph, ON) has committed to further his academic and baseball career at Mercyhurst College – North East (NJCAA D2 – North East, PA).  Martinez joined the Ontario Blue Jays program this past Fall and played for the 18U team throughout the year.  EJ played an integral role on the 2019 Ontario Blue Jays 18U team that won the CPBL Championship in late June.

Martinez joins a Saints team that is continuing to improve and push for a Region 3 Conference Championship.  EJ will look to jump right into the starting catcher role for the Saints and provide great leadership from behind the plate.

Martinez becomes the first Ontario Blue Jays player to attend Mercyhurst College – North East.
