Mike Steed returns as Pitching Coordinator

The Ontario Blue Jays are excited to announce the return of Mike Steed to the OBJ Coaching Staff in a full-time capacity in the off-season as our Pitching Coordinator.

Steed returns to OBJ after a short period away from the organization and looks to jump right back into a pitching program which he has built over the past five years.  He will handle all of the day-to-day operations of the pitching program and will oversee all pitchers throughout the calendar year.  Steed's pitching program has produced numerous draft picks and endless collegiate pitchers over the past years with the Ontario Blue Jays.

Steed upon returning to OBJ, "I wish to thank the Ontario Blue Jays organization for welcoming me back as Pitching Coordinator to lead the OBJ Pitching Staff during their off-season.  I look forward to developing this group of athletes at a pivotal time of year to get them ready for the Spring season and next level baseball before I begin my managing duties in the Northwoods League."

As mentioned, Mike has taken a summer collegiate league as the Head Coach of the Thunder Bay Border Cats in the Northwoods League.  The Northwoods League has been a premier summer collegiate league in the United States (and Canada) for over two decades.  Having Mike with the Border Cats will continue to strengthen our contacts across the United States as well as create opportunities for our collegiate alumni to play during the Summer.

Director of Baseball Operations, Joe Ellison on Mike's return, "I could not be more excited to have Mike return to OBJ for this coming off-season.  Mike brings a wealth of knowledge to our coaching staff, and especially on the mound.  The combination of him and Greg (Byron) will undoubtably take our pitchers to the next level and add to our already strong pitchers program."

Welcome back, Steeder!
