Whitaker commits to Shippensburg University

The Ontario Blue Jays are excited to announce that C Sawyer Whitaker (Mississauga, ON) has committed to further his academic and baseball career at Shippensburg University (NCAA DII - Shippensburg, PA). Whitaker joined OBJ as a 16 year old while attending Clarkson Secondary School where he graduated in 2021.

Whitaker will be head down to Pennsylvania this Fall to join a strong Division II program in the Shippensburg Raiders. The Raiders make annual drives towards the NCAA DII World Series in Cary, NC as they battle in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Sawyer will bring his enthusiasm, leadership and strong defensive play to the Ship beginning this Fall.

Whitaker will be the first Ontario Blue Jays player to attend Shippensburg University.
